I hope you managed to survive the recent heatwave! I know it was a struggle for us, but we made it through with iced coffee, milkshakes and staying inside playing board games.
We do recommend playing it safe and doing the same this month! So... know anywhere we can get great milkshakes and has a fantastic range of board games?
We are also celebrating Pride in Malmö this month.
We are proud to be a safe place all year for members of the LGBTQAI+, but we also love an opportunity to support the queer members of our community. So this Pride week we are running a fundraiser to raise money to support Regnbågsfonden.
You can read more about Regnbågsfonden on their website and drop in to our café to pick up your merch between 29th and 5th July!
And from our team to all of you, we wish a Pride week full of joy, celebration and safety!
Some important things to note for the summer!
We will also be reducing our weekly quizzes and events in general over the summer to facilitate our hardworking volunteers enjoying their summer too. We will be back to weekly quizzes and more regular events in the autumn!

15th July: Disney with Joakim
Welcome to the Disney Quiz!
Tonight we're travelling from Neverland to Wonderland, and maybe even "to infinity and beyond." Whether you're a Disney superfan or just here for the nostalgia, there's something for everyone, so show us your knowledge of everything that is the Disney we know today and also from a long time ago!
So gather your team, wish upon a star, and prepare for a magical battle to see who will be crowned the ultimate Disney champions!
22nd July: Are you smarter than a 5th grader? with Lene
There are so many wonderful things our teachers tried to get into our heads when we were children, but so much other knowledge has entered our heads since then… What do you remember, and could you beat a 10-year-old in this quiz that tests basic knowledge from different school subjects?
NB: There is no need to sign up for the quizzes; they are free; however, we recommend booking a table to ensure you have a seat for quiz time.

What is the Social Table, you ask?
The Social Table is a table we book, and you join to play!
Come alone or with someone, but be prepared to mix it up with some friendly folk who are looking for company and learn a new board game too!
This event is all about facilitating connections and creating an environment of fun and friendship where you can meet new people and expand your knowledge of board games.
Board games are a great way to spend an hour or five, have easy-going conversations, and combat loneliness and boredom. So if you want to meet some lovely people, make friends with them, and play some games, come and join the social table!

2nd Takenoko with Sinéy
Let's spend this Thursday growing bamboo, feeding the cutest panda, and hopefully pleasing the emperor in this fun game. As the gardener, you need to grow bamboo to keep the emperor happy, but that pesky, cute panda keeps eating it! And you can’t even be mad at it. This is an area management game with very light strategy involved and a lot of fun.
9th Smallworld with Joakim
It's a small, small world! And you are trying to conquer it! Small World is inhabited by a zany cast of characters, such as dwarves, wizards, amazons, giants, orcs, and even humans, who use their troops to occupy territory and conquer adjacent lands in order to push the other races off the face of the earth! So join in, and see if you can be the emperor of this small, small world!
16th Catan with Lene
Catan… a game so iconic and beloved that it decorates Brad's walls! You will build settlements to get the most resources, so that you can build more and more and MORE! It's a good mix of strategic planning, luck, and trying to get your fellow players to trade you their resources, even if they really don't want to.
19th Dominion with Sinéy
This was the game that introduced me to deck building as a game mechanic, and it is still one of the best ones out there in my opinion. There are many expansions, but for today we will focus on the original game, and we will see who comes out on top!
For those into collectable card games, Dominion has a similar play experience where you construct and play a deck of cards.
In Dominion, you have the same starting hand, but each turn you spend money to collect more cards, and very quickly each player's deck will look very different. You can string actions and benefits from the cards each turn to further advance your advantage - assuming you build a strong deck!
23rd Castle Combo with Lene
In Castle Combo, you collect characters that either live in the castle or village, with each one having a special ability that can bring you points if combined well with other characters. It’s a simple tableau-building game that is very satisfying to play!
30th Tiny Box Games with Joakim
Join us this evening when we bring out those tiny box games from the shelf! We'll play several different games throughout the evening, keeping things light, social, and competitive without long setup times or complicated rulebooks.
